We test drove the vehicle when we arrived at 11:30 a.m. After the test drive we told the salesperson we would give him a down payment, knowing our son/daughter-in-law would be coming after work (4:30) to sign the papers and finalize the full purchase price which they had already been pre-approved for. Our salesperson consulted Tim numerous times and each time we were required for additional information, which appeared he was trying to buy time. After 4 hours I asked to speak with Tim directly. He stated there were now other interested parties. The sale is processed to whichever customer is the first to pay in full, our down payment meant nothing even though it was non-refundable. Tim stated this has happened a few times before (in his 34 years ) and it's unfortunate but not everyone will leave happy. Tim then asked if we would be interested in any other vehicle. We left the dealership at 3:30 p.m.. The other interested party did not arrive at the dealership until approximately 4:30 (per our salesperson) and we were notified approximately at 5:30 that the vehicle was sold. I've never had a business transaction where the business refused to take my money. I can only assume Tim either knew the other party or he is paid on a commission basis.

Unprofessional Management and Disregard for Customers-- My experience with Summit Automotive in Fond du Lac was incredibly disappointing, and the way the manager Tim handling this situation made it even worse. My husband and I were planning on purchasing a truck, and while we couldn't get to the dealership as quickly as they apparently wanted, my in-laws were already there working through the details on our behalf. Instead of communicating with us or allowing us the opportunity to finalize the deal, Tim came over, took the keys, and sold the truck to someone else. TOOK the keys off the table my in-laws were sitting at!! My family had already invested their time and effort into making this purchase happen, only to have the truck sold out from under us. What makes this situation particularly frustrating is that this wasn't a misunderstanding involving an uninformed salesperson. The decision game from a manager himself. When Tim spoke with my husband his response was essentially that half the customers are going to be upset. Seriously? That is your response as a manager? Rather than acknowledging the frustration or taking accountability, or even show a little empathy of the situation, he essentially dismissed our concerns as an unavoidable part of doing business. I understand that dealerships are in the business of selling vehicles. However, basic communication, professionalism, and respect for people's time should not be too much to expect. My in-laws took the trip (from Green Bay) and spent their time trying to facilitate the purchase, and the way this was handled made that effort completely wasted. They were there over 4 hours! Tim's response only reinforced the impression that Summit Automotive cares more about completing a transaction than building relationships with customers. Summit Automotive had an opportunity to earn our business and instead left us with a terrible impression. Based on this experience and management's response, I would not recommend this dealership, and my family will be taking our business elsewhere. There are plenty of dealerships out there. I would rather give my money to one that values its customers instead of treating their frustration as just another statistic. To our initial salesperson, Joshua, he should also be upset that he did not get credit for the sale of the truck.

Performed the service I requested and didn’t try to sell me other components.

Cory was both knowledgeable and professional during my latest purchase. He listened to what I was looking for and was able to find the explorer I wanted.

Do not get your vehicle serviced here. Technicians just check the boxes on the computer without actually performing inspections or services. Took my vehicle in for an oil change, requested fluid top off(brakes were a little spongy and power steering pump starting to whine) and air filter check. Clerk made no comment on air filter when picking up, claimed billowing white smoke out of the tail pipe(which I have not seen or been able to replicate) and invited me for a 3-4 hour diagnostic at $199/hr, claimed all other services performed. Upon getting in vehicle I had a warning light which not there previously for brakes and the pedal went to the floor, power steering still whining, air filter very dirty. Looks like they did top off my windshield fluid, so I guess that was $90.65 poorly spent. Zero trust in this shop and all they offered was reimbursement for the bottle of brake fluid and powerd steering fluid I had to buy at Fleet Farm.

Terrible service, paid them to put brand new tires on a $75,000 car i bought from them. They outsourced the labor to Pomps and I ended up with one defective tire and now a second that’s losing 10 psi a day. Brought it back to them and they gave me the run around for two hours before telling me that they didn’t even do the work themselves and there’s nothing they can do to help me.

We were helped right away when we arrived and was able to test drive the truck we came to see immediately. We went back the next day and purchased the truck and was In our If the dealership in less than 30 minutes. We called ahead to let them know we were coming purchase the truck. We had a 45 Min drive to get there. By the time we made it they had detailed the truck and completed maintenance request for us and less than 30 minutes after arriving we were leaving. Big selection, great people, and no nonsense or pushy salesman. Just good Business.
